Your Shoulder Pain
Has a Root Cause.

Most shoulder pain in active people isn't a shoulder problem β€” it's a mobility deficit, a stability gap, or a mechanics breakdown that nobody has actually looked for yet. We find it. We fix it. We get you pressing, throwing, and swinging again.

Your Shoulder Has Been
Sidelining You Long Enough.

  • βœ— Every overhead movement β€” pressing, pull-ups, cleans β€” comes with a sharp reminder that something isn't right.
  • βœ— You've rested it for weeks. It feels okay. Then you get back under a bar and the pain is right back where you left it.
  • βœ— An orthopedic doc found "mild impingement" or a partial tear on your MRI and told you to stop lifting overhead. That's not a plan.
  • βœ— You've tried band pull-aparts, face pulls, and every rotator cuff exercise on YouTube β€” and your shoulder still hurts.
  • βœ— You're scaling movements, dropping weight, avoiding your best lifts β€” and slowly watching your progress slip away.
  • βœ— Surgery has been mentioned and the thought of 6–12 months of recovery is keeping you up at night.
"Shoulder impingement, rotator cuff issues, bicep tendinitis β€” most of it comes down to thoracic mobility, scapular stability, or a motor control problem that nobody has screened for. Fix the actual deficit and the pain goes away."

One session with Dr. AJ β€” not an aide, not a tech β€” and you'll finally know what's actually driving your shoulder pain and what it takes to fix it for good.

Root-Cause Shoulder Assessment

We screen thoracic mobility, scapular control, rotator cuff strength, and overhead mechanics β€” because the shoulder is the last place to look, not the first.

πŸ“‹

Your Custom Fix Plan

Leave with a clear diagnosis, a prioritized action plan, and a realistic timeline to get back to full training β€” not a list of band exercises and instructions to avoid pressing.

πŸ’ͺ

Loaded Overhead Screen

We watch you press, pull, and load overhead β€” under actual training conditions β€” to find exactly where your mechanics break down and why the shoulder takes the hit.

🎯

Return-to-Training Roadmap

Whether you want to press heavy, hit full overhead squats, throw without pain, or swing a club β€” your plan is built around your specific goal, not a generic shoulder protocol.

They Had Shoulder Pain Too.
Now They're Back.

I had rotator cuff pain on every overhead movement for almost a year. Tried two other PTs who just gave me band exercises and told me to avoid pressing. Dr. AJ spent an hour looking at my thoracic mobility and scapular mechanics β€” found the real issue in the first session. Back to overhead pressing pain-free in 7 weeks.

Shoulder impingement was making every swim stroke misery. I was 8 weeks out from a triathlon and terrified my season was done. AJ found a scapular control issue I had no idea about. Modified my training, fixed the deficit, and I finished the race with zero shoulder pain. Unreal.

I was told I had a partial rotator cuff tear and surgery might be necessary. I came to Pinnacle as a second opinion before committing to that. AJ showed me the tear wasn't the source of my pain β€” it was a motor control problem that had never been addressed. No surgery. Back to Olympic lifting in 10 weeks.

My shoulder was wrecked from years of golf β€” I could barely finish 9 holes without pain through the backswing. Dr. Kimmich is TPI certified and actually understands what the shoulder has to do in a golf swing. He identified a T-spine restriction I had no idea about. Playing 18 holes pain-free now.

Post-surgery rehab after a labrum repair. My first PT clinic had me doing the same exercises as everyone else with no sport context. At Pinnacle, Dr. AJ built my program around returning to throwing β€” not just "passing" a generic strength test. Cleared to pitch again 3 weeks ahead of schedule.

Shoulder pain on every pickleball overhead and serve. I'd been living on ibuprofen for months. AJ found my lats were completely inhibited and my shoulder was compensating on every rep. Six weeks later I'm playing five days a week with zero pain. Should have come here first.

Dr. AJ Kimmich
PT, DPT, TPI

Dr. AJ built Pinnacle Performance & Wellness because he was tired of watching active people get told to stop pressing, do band exercises for 6 weeks, and return to the same pain cycle all over again β€” with no one ever asking why the shoulder hurts in the first place.

Shoulder pain in athletes almost always has a correctable cause β€” thoracic stiffness, scapular dyskinesis, poor rotator cuff timing, or a mechanics flaw baking in stress with every rep. Dr. AJ identifies it in one session and builds a targeted plan to fix it.

Every session is one-on-one. You always work directly with Dr. AJ β€” never an aide, never a tech.

The No-BS Guarantee

If you come in for your $97 shoulder evaluation and don't leave with a clear diagnosis, a specific root cause, and a realistic plan to get back to full training β€” we'll make it right. Period.

We don't do "avoid overhead and see how it feels in a month." We don't do generic band programs with no explanation. You get real answers or we haven't done our job.

Got Questions?
We've Got Answers.

Why only $97? What's the catch? +
No catch. This discounted evaluation is specifically for active people dealing with shoulder pain who haven't found real answers yet. We'd rather earn your trust in one session than have you sit on the fence. The normal evaluation is $249 β€” this offer is limited to people who are ready to actually fix the problem.
I've already tried PT for my shoulder. How is this different? +
Most shoulder PT fails because it goes straight to rotator cuff exercises without ever asking why the rotator cuff is struggling. Band pull-aparts and external rotation drills don't fix thoracic stiffness, scapular dysfunction, or a broken movement pattern. At Pinnacle, every session is 60 minutes, 1-on-1 with Dr. AJ. We screen the whole system β€” from the thoracic spine up β€” and build your plan around the actual cause, not a standard shoulder protocol.
Do I need an MRI or doctor's referral before coming in? +
No referral needed and no imaging required upfront. MRIs show structure β€” they don't show how you move, how your scapula tracks, or where your mechanics break down. In most cases, a thorough movement screen tells us more than an image does. If we think imaging would help, we'll tell you after the evaluation. Book directly β€” no hoops to jump through.
My MRI shows a partial tear or impingement. Do I need surgery? +
Not necessarily. Partial rotator cuff tears and impingement findings on imaging are extremely common in active people β€” and frequently asymptomatic or not the actual pain source. Many athletes with significant structural findings train at full capacity with zero pain once the contributing mechanics are corrected. We're not anti-surgery, but we want you to exhaust conservative options first and make an informed decision. Come in and let us give you an honest assessment.
How many sessions will I need? +
It depends on the root cause, how long it's been there, and what you're returning to. Acute shoulder issues with a clear mechanical cause can see significant improvement in 4–6 sessions. Post-surgical rehab after labrum or rotator cuff repair takes longer. After your evaluation, you'll have a realistic timeline with specific milestones β€” not "come back and we'll see."
Can I keep training while working with you? +
In most cases, yes. We're not here to take training away from you β€” we're here to make it sustainable. We work around your program, modify overhead loading intelligently, and build your shoulder up progressively so it can handle what you're asking it to do. This is performance PT, not a shutdown.
Do you take insurance? +
Pinnacle is out-of-network, which is exactly why every session is 60 minutes, 1-on-1 with a Doctor of PT β€” not a 15-minute check-in with an aide while three other patients wait their turn. Many clients use HSA/FSA. For athletes who've already wasted months on generic care that didn't work, the investment pays off in fewer total visits and a shoulder that actually stays fixed.

Done Letting Your Shoulder
Call the Shots?

One session. A real diagnosis. And a plan to get back to pressing, throwing, and swinging β€” without surgery, injections, or another round of band exercises that don't work.
